There is no excuse

I just finished watching Inside-out with Agatha Amata and i totally enjoyed the show, so i decided to talk about it.
What interested me the most was a young man in the panel who says he is a secondary school dropout and blames government for being so.
Now that's so funny really, in this age and time, a well built, agile young man is still blaming someone-the government for his 'failure'? I mean every success story in life i have heard of , is a story of personal struggle, determination and sacrifice, you hardly will hear the word government in success stories. Being a dropout isn't even an excuse, the Bill Gates, Mark Zukerburg and Ted Turner of this world are billionaires today and they share one thing in common with Agatha Amata's panelist- they are drop outs too, only they didnt wait for government to rescue them, they worked, excel and rescue governments today.
The thing is, i don't blame this young man, we- the youths of today- always want to blame someone for our failures and inadequacies. Truth is, we have no excuse not to work and excel, government of no government, Nigerians or non-Nigerians.
Am in no way saying government should be irresponsible to citizens or be unaccountable to them, but we should know that while we cannot do much about what government does, we can do a whole lot for ourselves and we own ourselves everything to excel. That's right, everything.
